Battle Axes on Main is a family-owned axe-throwing venue on Main Street in downtown Belton, Missouri, with six lanes, Shakespeare’s Pizza on site, and no liquor license.

Description

Battle Axes on Main occupies 414 Main Street in downtown Belton, a Cass County city on the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro — not Belton, Texas.123 The first-party site describes a six-lane venue in “the original historic building on Main Street” with exposed brick and hardwood floors; it does not name the building or give a construction year, and those details are not filled in here.4 The Martin City Telegraph independently called it a new ax-throwing room in “one of the oldest buildings downtown” and put the floor at about 1,400 square feet with six professional lanes.2

The house food is Shakespeare’s Pizza, listed on the venue’s own menu at $14.50 a pie (pepperoni; four cheese; Pizza Lover’s Passion; Panda’s Pepper; Hawaiian; Three Meat Treat), plus canned soft drinks at $1.25 and water at $1.00. The menu page also advertises “Signature Dirty Sodas” without a printed price.5 The venue states that it does not sell alcohol. The home page and the Telegraph both point guests to Broken Hatchet, a brewery “just down Main Street” / “a couple of doors down,” for beer; the menu page, as fetched 2026-08-31, uses the softer line “we have options locally” and does not name the brewery in that paragraph. Both versions are printed. Neither is silently merged.452

This Belton shop is not DFW Battle Axes (Midlothian and Waxahachie, Texas). That is a separate Texas company on its own domain.6 No franchise, license, or corporate-parent link between the two was located.

Ownership and history

The Martin City Telegraph (Don Bradley, 5 February 2026) reported that Amanda Doyon opened the venue with her fiancé, CJ Shutt. Doyon is quoted: “We are trying to bring some new entertainment to the historic downtown area,” and that axe throwing had been on Shutt’s list of things he wanted to do. The same piece says the shop opened 9 January 2026 with a ribbon-cutting of about 50 people, that it was the first business of its kind in Belton, and that students in the Academies of Belton vocational program framed the lanes, hung drywall, painted, and installed bathroom fixtures while the owners paid for materials.2 The venue’s own home page claims it is “the first family-owned axe throwing venue of its kind in the Belton, Missouri area” and uses the marketing line “flagship location.” Only this Belton address was found; “flagship” is not treated as proof of a second store.4

The first-party site does not name Doyon or Shutt. The legal entity (LLC or otherwise) was not established: Missouri Secretary of State business search returned HTTP 403 (Cloudflare challenge) on 2026-08-31. “
