Bee Creek Bistro is a bakery and breakfast-and-lunch cafe at 242 Main Street in downtown Platte City, Missouri, reopened in December 2025 under new local ownership on the site of the former Bee Creek Cafe and Bakery.
Description
Bee Creek Bistro occupies a storefront at 242 Main Street in downtown Platte City, the Platte County seat.12 It serves coffee, house-baked pastries, and a breakfast and lunch menu in what its owners describe as a “cozy, relaxing atmosphere where you can kick back and enjoy a coffee, pastry, breakfast or lunch.”1
The bakery side is central to the business, which states that it believes “in the art of baking” and centres its mission on “creating delightful treats that bring joy to our community.”2 Pickup orders are taken by phone and through Cash App, and the shop asks customers to call ahead to reserve baked items.2
The address has been a Main Street food business since 2016, when Bee Creek Cafe and Bakery opened there under different owners.3 That business closed; when the Barths reopened the space, several of the previous cafe’s staff and bakers returned to work in it.1
Ownership and history
David and Jennifer Barth purchased the 242 Main Street building over the course of roughly a year before reopening it, with Jennifer Barth serving as the active owner-operator.1 The Platte County Landmark reported the reopening on 4 December 2025 under the headline “Bee Creek Bistro now open,” noting that “Bee Creek is back.”1
Jennifer Barth publicly credited the shop’s staff and bakers at reopening and confirmed that some of the employees had formerly worked for Bee Creek under previous ownership.1
The predecessor operation, Bee Creek Cafe and Bakery, states it “started our business in 2016 with the goal of providing an enjoyable dining experience to the Platte City area,” and sourced its coffee from The Roasterie in Kansas City.3 “ — the name of the 2016 founder or founding family, the closure date of the original cafe, and whether the Roasterie coffee relationship carried over to the Bistro.
