Description

Beirut Taco is Maher Chebaro’s Lebanese-Mexican fusion taqueria in the West 39th Street District — opened April 2026 at 3904 Bell St, the former D’Bronx location. Chebaro is a Lebanese immigrant who arrived in the United States in 1976 from Beirut. Before KC, he developed a near-identical concept called El Cedro in Brooklyn, New York, which Eatery New York named one of its 10 favorite new restaurants of 2024. The concept fuses Lebanese flavors and Middle Eastern spices with Mexican taqueria formats — tacos and pitas as vehicles for Beirut-inflected ingredients. Fox4 and KCTV5 both covered the April 2026 Kansas City opening. The restaurant occupies the former home of D’Bronx, a beloved KC deli that operated on Bell St for decades.

Tier classification

Tier pending — Maher Chebaro KC arrival date and dedication. Chebaro is Lebanese-born, arrived in the U.S. in 1976 — over 49 years of U.S. presence. However, El Cedro (Brooklyn, NY) received Eatery New York coverage in 2024, suggesting active New York presence through at least that year. Whether Chebaro has fully relocated to Kansas City, is operating both markets, or chose KC as a new primary base after El Cedro requires direct verification. If KC-dedicated (relocated here to open Beirut Taco), Tier 2; if split operations, the tier call needs Strategist judgment. Contact via @beiruttaco (Instagram) or the restaurant directly.
