Bramble & Stem is an independent florist at 410 East Gregory in the Waldo Design District of Kansas City, Missouri, led by Katherine Taylor (maiden name Brambl), with a home-studio practice the shop dates to 2012 and a Waldo retail storefront opened in November 2024.

Description

Bramble & Stem occupies 410 East Gregory in Waldo, Kansas City, Missouri — Jackson County, not Johnson County, and not any Kansas namesake of Waldo or Gregory Boulevard.12 First-party About copy roots the shop in “Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood.”3 Startland News (Joyce Smith, 12 November 2024) places the storefront at 410 E. Gregory Blvd. in a divided corner space at Gregory and Oak, next to Leslie Beck’s Blue Sky Art + Home at 408 E. Gregory, near Front Range Coffeehouse.4 First-party address is 410; 408 is the neighbor’s door, not Bramble’s.

Bare curl without a browser user-agent returned HTTP 403 this pass; a browser UA and Firecrawl both received HTTP 200. Copyright line: 2026.1

This page is not Botanica Flower Studio (Heather Coones — named by Taylor as a mentor, not as this shop). It is not Blue Sky Art + Home.

Hours — first-party conflict, printed not merged. Two first-party schedules on the live site disagree; neither is picked:12

  • Homepage “Business Hours” / footer “Store Hours”: Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Sunday is omitted (not printed as closed).
  • FAQ (“What hours are you open?”): Tuesday–Saturday 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. CST.

Startland’s opening-week schedule (not first-party, November 2024) was Monday by appointment only with Monday delivery available; Tuesday–Friday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.–1 p.m.; Sunday closed; fresh flowers Tuesday–Friday.4 That press schedule is not what the FAQ or footer says in 2026 and is not treated as current hours.

Ownership and history

First-party About names Katherine Taylor and states that Bramble & Stem “grew from a dream that started in Katherine Taylor’s garage under the name Studio 421 Floral Design.” After losing her dad — “Katherine’s biggest supporter and a small business owner himself” — she “found the courage to finally take the leap.” When not designing she spends time with her husband, two children, and a lab named Tuesday.3

VoyageKC (13 January 2025), linked from the shop’s own About “in the press” row, is Taylor in first person: she moved to Kansas City in 2011 after marrying Bryan Taylor; she had been working for her family’s home-improvement company in Tulsa; a downtown Kansas City flower-shop marketing job ended when that unnamed shop closed; first child in 2012; work with Heather Coones at Botanica; first walk-through as a wedding florist in 2014 with her son in a sling; COVID-era shift from weddings-only to everyday flowers, basement then a garage studio. Father Dan Brambl “suddenly passed away in 2023.” The retail name: “‘Bramble’ honors my maiden name, and ‘Stem’ reflects the foundation and strength that family provides.” She adopted Bramble & Stem “when I moved the business out of my home-based studio.”5

Startland fills the Tulsa / Chicago / MBA path (Oklahoma State; advertising in Chicago; return to Tulsa 2006; KC for Bryan’s job) and states the Waldo shop opened 5 November 2024. It names children Evie (then 12) and Marshall (then 10), daughter Evie’s floral-themed earrings in the shop, and Botanica’s Heather Coones as mentor. Taylor is self-taught in that piece. “There is room for all of us in this town,” she said of other florists.4

2012 vs 2014 vs 2024 — printed, not merged. The homepage’s “Since 2012” line is a tenure claim for the floral practice (home-based studio then retail).1 VoyageKC dates the first wedding-florist walk-through to 2014.5 Startland dates the Waldo retail door to 5 November 2024.4 Those are different events. Missouri Secretary of State entity name was not searched this pass. “
