Faded Pages Bookstore is an independent bookstore at 319 Main Street in downtown Belton, Cass County, Missouri, owned by Mary Martin. Belton is Missouri — not Belton, Texas. The shop opened in Cleveland, Missouri in October 2023 and re-opened in Belton in February 2026.

Description

Faded Pages occupies 319 Main Street in downtown Belton, Cass County, Missouri, on the southern Kansas City metro approach along I-49 / U.S. 71.1 Belton is Missouri, not Belton, Texas, and not Belton, Texas County. The official Shopify storefront banners “Welcome To The Magic Of The Bookfair!” and “Tiny Bookstore, Big Dreams”; the homepage does not print the brick-and-mortar street.2 Kristina Panos, Martin City Telegraph (6 August 2026), interviewed Martin in the store and gave the 319 Main Street address; the piece links the same first-party domain.1

The Belton Chamber of Commerce 2026 Community Guide membership roster lists Faded Pages Bookstore under Shopping & Specialty Retail with phone 816-529-3360 — the same digits the shop publishes on its accessibility statement as 8165293360.34 Chamber Facebook (6 February 2026) placed the ribbon cutting “right here on Main Street in downtown Belton — next to Whistle Stop Antiques Belton,” and tagged the new member Faded Pages Books & Games, “formerly of Cleveland, MO.”5

Name conflict — printed, not merged. First-party chrome and the 2026 Chamber roster use Faded Pages Bookstore / Faded Pages. The Chamber ribbon-cutting post uses Faded Pages Books & Games. Both strings are recorded; they are not collapsed into one official legal name.

Stock, per Martin in the Telegraph: new and used books for adults and children; Spanish, German, and French titles; traditionally published and indie; “We’re not just a romance store, we’re not just a thriller store.” A children’s corner, small-business shelves by the counter, plush/stationery merch, and board games sit in the same room. She holds a free story hour every third Saturday at 11 a.m., Dungeons & Dragons nights, and open game sessions every third Friday until 10 p.m.1 The Shopify nav adds Blind Dates and Book Boxes, bookish merch, clothing, 3d goodies, Kindle accessories, tote bags, in-store books, named indie-author collections (Alannah Roberts; D.L. Darby; Nycole DiCredico; Helen Sheuerer), subscription boxes, and small-business collabs (KC Stationer; Latusa Grove Creations; MNMIMPRESSIONSCO; Naughty By Wendy; Bookish Charms).2

This page is not Belton, Texas; not Cleveland, Ohio; not Mary Martin Bookshop (Melbourne, Australia); not Fables & Pages (unrelated 2026 Kickstarter); not Pages Turned Bookstore (Columbia, MO, online); not Tattered Pages (Monroe, CT).

Ownership and history

VoyageKC (“Conversations with Mary Martin,” 27 October 2025) is a first-person interview. Martin says she bought a used bookstore posted on Marketplace in Cleveland, a tiny town, and that books and games were the fit. October 2023 grand opening: local author signing, vendors, “the magic of the bookfair” for adults. Hours then: after her full-time job and weekends; later a bigger Cleveland building, Tuesday–Saturday 10 a.m.–2 p.m., with her mother volunteering. Online (TikTok, Etsy, website) carried Blind Date with a Book and gift boxes; she claimed shipments to all U.S. states plus Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Ireland within six months. She states she owns Faded Pages while keeping a full-time job.6

The Telegraph (August 2026) retells the Cleveland 2023 start: she grew up there; rent was expensive; foot traffic was not enough; TikTok lives and donations kept the shop from closing; she moved the bookstore to Belton and re-opened in February 2026.1 First-party TikTok (@fadedpagesbookstore, 30 January 2026) said inspections passed, ribbon cutting 13 February, grand re-opening 14 February, “we moved our bookstore to a new location.” A later TikTok (5 March 2026) has Martin on camera: “I’m Mary. I own Faded Pages Bookstore… a small bookstore in a semi small town” in Belton, Missouri — new books, children’s books, used books, an indie-author section, and “16 small businesses within the bookstore.”7 Auto-captions on the January clip render “Mario” / “Fake Pages”; that is a transcript error against the spoken name and the @fadedpagesbookstore account. Not used as an owner string.

Cleveland street address is not findable on the sources opened this pass. “

Missouri Secretary of State entity name was not searched this pass. “

A Facebook Page titled Faded Pages Bookstore (profile id 61569880290177) still intros as used children’s-through-young-adult books with “wholesome storylines.” That intro does not match the 2026 Telegraph mix or the live Shopify catalog. It is printed as a stale-or-other-page conflict, not as current specialty.8
