GolfTRK is a Kansas City-founded indoor golf training company launched in August 2023 and now the fastest-growing golf franchise brand to come out of the metro. Two company-owned venues operate in Johnson County — 11207 Strang Line Rd, Lenexa and 7325 W 161st St, Overland Park — built on TrackMan bays with PGA-professional coaching, and a flagship headquarters at 7068 Mission Rd in the Shops of Prairie Village is opening in September 2026 in the former Macy’s space. The parent company, Albatross Golf, also develops Noonan, a patent-pending digital caddie platform, and franchises the GolfTRK format nationally.

Description

GolfTRK sells year-round practice rather than an evening out. Each venue is a small room of TrackMan bays — three in Lenexa, four in Overland Park by the company’s own listings — paired with PGA-professional coaching, club fitting, and lessons, sold mainly by membership rather than by the hour.123 The company describes the combination as “tour-grade TrackMan and PuttView technology with PGA professional coaching to turn every swing into measurable improvement.”4

The franchise model is the unusual part, and it is built around the instructor. GolfTRK recruits PGA instructors as franchise operators, with revenue-sharing terms, so that every location has a PGA professional as owner or general manager rather than a hired pro on salary.3 The company is an official TrackMan Preferred Franchise Partner.3

The venues double as a laboratory. Noonan, a patent-pending digital caddie platform built by the same founding team, reads simulator data and returns shot recommendations; the GolfTRK floors are its incubation space.3 Separately, the company has worked with Kansas State University’s Technology Development Institute on better impact-screen prototypes — the existing screens wear out under ball strike about every three months.3

The market read the founders give is the “golf light” segment between entertainment venues and serious play, in a sport where participation has risen sharply and course capacity has not.3 The Prairie Village headquarters is aimed at a specific version of that gap: a neighborhood ringed by private clubs with long waiting lists and high dues, and no accessible premium practice.5

Ownership and history

Albatross Golf launched GolfTRK in August 2023. The July 2025 franchise feature names four founders — Matt Williams, Alex Reed, Sam Collins and Paul Buonopane — and places the company in Lenexa.3 The March 2026 headquarters feature names Alex Reed and Matt Williams as the co-founders who launched it.5 Both rosters are printed here; no source located this pass reconciles them, and the four-name list is the fuller record rather than a correction of the two-name one.

Growth has been fast and is documented in two snapshots. By July 2025: two company-owned KC-metro venues (Lenexa and Overland Park), 11 franchise agreements signed with roughly 30 more in development, and franchises running in Dallas, San Antonio, Tampa, Eugene (Oregon) and Omaha, with St. Louis and further KC-metro sites planned.3 By March 2026: 31 franchise units sold since early 2025, five GolfTRK locations open (two of them outside Kansas City), a $675,000 seed round raised, a Garmin partnership, and a Series A in progress.5

The Prairie Village headquarters is the company’s statement piece: the former Macy’s space at the Shops of Prairie Village, with training bays, a putting area, offices, a conference room and a kitchen. Alex Reed on why: “We have outgrown our existing venues to be able to host groups like that. They’re getting bigger and bigger every month, and so this will serve as that space for us to showcase what the best of the brand can be.”5

Its size and opening date are unsettled in the record. The March 2026 reporting describes a 6,700 sq ft facility with six training bays targeting a first-week-of-June opening alongside Big Grove Brewery and World Cup festivities.5 A September 2026 press release, read from the search index only, describes a 15,000 sq ft flagship with a grand opening on 10 September and a ribbon cutting on 11 September 2026, and the company past 60 franchise units sold.6 June came and went; the first-party locations page still carried Prairie Village as “Opening Summer 2026” on this pass.7 Both figures and both dates are recorded; neither is asserted as the fact.

Legal entity registration for Albatross Golf and GolfTRK (Kansas Secretary of State) was not searched this pass.
