Last Call is a small cocktail lounge behind an unmarked door at 12687 Metcalf Avenue in the Metcalf 127 center, south Overland Park. It trades under two names of its own making — its domain and its directory listings say Last Call Speakeasy, while the site it currently publishes is headed Last Call Cocktail Lounge — and runs Wednesday through Saturday evenings on a program of craft cocktails, a short tapas list and live local music every Friday and Saturday. It publishes a full priced first-party drinks and snacks menu.
Description
Last Call occupies a bar suite at 12687 Metcalf Avenue in the Metcalf 127 shopping center off 127th Street and Metcalf Avenue in south Overland Park. The entrance is unmarked. The business’s own marketing copy — carried on its earlier site and reproduced in the Visit Overland Park directory — describes it this way: “Hidden behind an unmarked door, Last Call blends Prohibition-era intrigue with modern cocktail alchemy. In the warm, low-lit space, bartenders craft experimental drinks with smoke, vapor, and infusions; each cocktail arriving as a small, elegant spectacle. The menu is paired with refined tapas — chef driven bites, aromatic small plates, and playful flavor twists designed to complement the bar’s molecular creations.”12
The site the business publishes as of August 2026 is plainer in tone — “Low lights, bold cocktails, and live music in an intimate setting — the kind of night that feels worth getting dressed for”3 — and headed Last Call Cocktail Lounge rather than Last Call Speakeasy. Both names are the business’s own: the domain, the copyright line on the archived February 2026 site, and the Visit Overland Park listing all read “Last Call Speakeasy,”124 while the current header, footer and page titles read “Last Call Cocktail Lounge.”3 This page files under the speakeasy name because that is the domain and the public directory name; the alias list carries the other.
The drinks list is a nine-cocktail card at a flat $15, weighted toward gin and bourbon builds and egg-white sours, plus nine wines by the glass and six beers.5 Food is three items: honey whipped goat cheese with focaccia, caramelized onion dip with chips, and a rotating charcuterie board.6
Live music is central rather than incidental. The venue books local solo performers every Friday and Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30pm and publishes a calendar with a written introduction for each act; the August 2026 calendar runs Rustin Smith, Evalise Kaufman, Kurt Caldwell and Mike Murphy across consecutive weekends.7 The site states that the live-music season “runs through October 31st,” after which the room closes briefly and reopens mid-November as the “annual Winter Wonderland pop-up” with a festive look and a separate menu.7 Visit Overland Park’s holiday pop-up bar guide carries the pop-up as a December 2–December 30 run with limited online reservations.8
Ownership — and the open question about the Final Final Club
Owner:. No individual, partnership or LLC is named anywhere on the business’s own site (home, about, libations, snacks, private events, live music calendar), on the archived February 2026 version of the site, or in the Visit Overland Park listing.3921 No Kansas City-metro outlet appears to have covered the opening: a Johnson County Post site search returned no article about Last Call, and no Startland News, Kansas City Magazine, The Pitch or KCUR item was found (checked 2026-08-13).
The prior tenant
The same address previously housed The Final Final Club, a members-only bar. The Johnson County Post reported its opening in July 2022: it opened in mid-May 2022 at 12687 Metcalf Avenue in the Metcalf 127 shopping center, run by co-owner Bill George and two silent partners who conceived the idea during the pandemic; the name came from an inside joke about a “final final” drink. Membership was $10 a year, members were issued four-digit codes to enter through a payphone at the door, and the club offered specialty cocktails, craft beer, house wine, small and large bites, and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings from 8 to 11pm. Its hours were 4pm to midnight, Wednesday through Saturday.10
The Post reported the club’s closure on September 15, 2025, after three years, with the decision tied to one owner’s cancer diagnosis. The article named no successor and said nothing about what would follow in the space.11
What can and cannot be concluded
The relationship between the two businesses could not be established from any source, and this page does not assert one. What is on the record is circumstantial and is set out here as circumstance, not as inference:
- Same suite: 12687 Metcalf Avenue, Metcalf 127.210
- Sequence with no overlap: Final Final closed September 2025;11 the lastcallspeakeasy.com domain was registered 2025-10-17, about a month later.4
- Similar operating shape: both are Wednesday-through-Saturday evening bars opening at 4pm with weekend live music in an intimate room, and both use a concealed or coded entrance — a payphone keypad at Final Final,10 an unmarked door at Last Call.2
- Meaningful differences: Final Final was a paid-membership private club;10 Last Call publishes a public menu, takes public Tock reservations and advertises to tourists through Visit Overland Park.32
Explicit inference disclaimer: none of the above identifies who owns Last Call. A shared address and an adjacent timeline are equally consistent with (a) the same partners relaunching the space under a new public-facing concept, (b) a new operator taking an already-built-out bar suite, and (c) a landlord-driven re-tenanting. No source located states which. Nothing on this page should be read as attributing Last Call to Bill George or to the Final Final partnership.
Resolving steps:
- Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control drinking-establishment licensee record for 12687 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park — names the licensee entity. The Kansas Department of Revenue ABC search endpoint returned HTTP 404 to automated requests on 2026-08-13.
- Kansas Secretary of State business-entity search for a “Last Call” entity — the SOS entity search returned HTTP 403 to automated requests on 2026-08-13; it needs a browser session.
- City of Overland Park business-license or occupancy records for the suite.
- A direct ask: (913) 232-7474 or info@lastcallspeakeasy.com.
: if the succession resolves, decide then whether The Final Final Club warrants its own registry_status: closed page and a stated relationship, or stays a historical note on this one. No Final Final page exists in the Registry as of 2026-08-13.
