Description
Main Street Inn is a bed-and-breakfast in the historic downtown of Parkville, Missouri, a Platte County river town on the northwest edge of the metro. The inn occupies a Queen Anne house at 504 Main Street and offers three named suites in the main house — the Missouri River Suite, the Col. Park Suite, and Old Kate’s Room — plus a room in the carriage house alongside.12
Jason and Kathy Ayers own and run it. Both work from design backgrounds — Jason in architecture and design, Kathy in art and architecture — and the couple had known Parkville for nearly twenty years before they took on the building in 2013 and renovated it.1 The state tourism office describes them as architects by profession.2 The interiors keep exposed brick and period fabric rather than replacing it.1
The inn sits inside walking distance of Parkville’s Main Street businesses and English Landing Park, and is listed on the City of Parkville’s own lodging page alongside two Park House properties.3

History
The building. The house at 504 Main Street was built in 1885–1887 in the Queen Anne manner, first as a single-family home and later divided as a multi-family residence before its conversion to lodging.1 Parkville itself was founded in the 1840s by Colonel George S. Park, for whom one of the inn’s suites is named, and the inn ties its own account of the property to that town history.1
The business. The inn is a 2013 business in an 1880s house. Jason and Kathy Ayers had known and wanted Parkville for close to two decades before acquiring the property; they took it on in 2013 and carried out the renovation themselves, drawing on their architecture, design and art backgrounds.1 The building’s 141 years and the business’s thirteen are separate facts and are not merged here: nothing in the sources consulted establishes any lodging use of the house before 2013, and the Registry does not credit the business with the building’s age.
