Muy Caliente Grill & Cantina (full name: Muy Caliente Mexican Grill & Cantina) is a Mexican grill and cantina at 751 E. 63rd St., Suite 110, in Kansas City’s East Brookside neighborhood.¹² It occupies the former Brady & Fox Irish pub space, a venue that was downsized from roughly 5,000 to 3,900 square feet to accommodate a new office tenant when the restaurant took over.³ The restaurant opened on August 14, 2025.⁴

Ownership and history

Muy Caliente is the joint venture of two KC-area families brought together by a longtime friendship between the two patriarchs.³ Fredy Rivera and his oldest daughter, Saray Pilar Nonato, partner with Noel Ramos and his oldest daughter, Gepsiva Ramos.³⁴ The Ramos family manages day-to-day operations, supported by Noel’s wife and son.³ All four principals bring extensive experience from working in Mexican restaurants across the Kansas City area, and the menu draws on the families’ own recipes.³

The Rivera side already operates another local restaurant: Fredy Rivera and his daughter own El Plato Mexican Grill & Cantina in Lee’s Summit.³² Muy Caliente thus represents an expansion of an established KC-metro restaurant family into the Brookside market.

The owners also planned to honor the prior tenant: the former Brady & Fox space is tied to Irish chef Shaun Brady, who was killed outside the restaurant in August 2024, and the Muy Caliente owners said they intended to install a memorial to Brady.³⁴
