Paisa MX is a Colombian–Mexican restaurant and bar at 1621 Swift Ave, North Kansas City, MO, that opened earlier in 2026 in the former Chef Tito’s space. Co-owner Antonio Romanis positioned it as a home for KC’s growing Colombian community (live music, big-screen watch parties). It drew regional press during Colombia’s July 2026 World Cup matches in Kansas City. As of August 2026, the restaurant is temporarily closed after a building condemnation / code issue at the Swift address — not a permanent brand exit.123

Description
Paisa MX served Colombian and Mexican food and drink in a restaurant-bar format on Swift Avenue in North Kansas City — the same storefront previously occupied by Chef Tito’s. Press coverage during FIFA World Cup 2026 described a full restaurant plus a large-screen / event setup aimed at Colombian fans and the broader metro Latino community.243
Menu signals from delivery and local social posts include arepas, empanadas, flautas, maracuyá drinks, and other Colombian–Mexican staples; full first-party menu pricing was never captured on a stable official domain and remains partial.5
Ownership and history
Antonio Romanis is the co-owner repeatedly quoted in KSHB, Fox4, and Kansas City Star World Cup coverage (June–July 2026). He described wanting a Colombian community hub from opening day and framed the restaurant as Mexican–Colombian fusion.243
The address 1621 Swift is the former home of Chef Tito’s, which the Registry already marks closed; a 2026-07-24 Compiler note recorded that Chef Tito’s first-party channels were dead and that Facebook identity at the address had become Paisa MX. Whether Romanis (or Paisa MX’s legal entity) is continuous with Chef Tito’s ownership is not established — treat as successor concept at the same address, not as a rebrand, unless filings prove otherwise.5
August 2026 status change: The Kansas City Star reported that Paisa MX closed after a building condemnation / code issue at 1621 Swift, with the operator closing the restaurant the prior Friday because of the building’s problems. Page status is therefore temporarily_closed pending a confirmed reopen or permanent exit.1
