Pan Caliente is the KC metro’s only Argentine bakery — a wholesale operation out of Independence’s Ennovation Center that distributes alfajores, empanadas, chori-pan, and milhojas to cafés and farmers markets across the region.

Description

Pan Caliente is an Argentine bakery operated by husband-and-wife owners Silvia Miguel and Alejandro Cabro, both from Patagonia, Argentina. The business has run out of the Ennovation Center — a shared commercial kitchen in Independence, Missouri — since 2012, distributing baked goods and Argentine specialties through café partners and farmers markets across the Kansas City metro rather than a storefront of its own.1 Product placements confirmed in KCUR’s August 2025 profile include cafés in West Plaza, Crossroads, Brookside, Lee’s Summit, and Unity Village.1 Pan Caliente is identified in that reporting as the metro’s only Argentine bakery.1

Ownership and history

Owners Silvia Miguel and Alejandro Cabro emigrated from Patagonia, Argentina, and launched Pan Caliente in 2012 to bring Argentine baked goods to the Kansas City area.1 They have run the business as a wholesale operation from day one, using the Ennovation Center’s shared commercial kitchen infrastructure rather than opening a brick-and-mortar retail location. KCUR’s August 2025 profile — the bakery’s first major regional editorial coverage in more than a decade of operation — describes the business’s growth through café partnerships and farmers-market presence.1
