Patrick’s Bar and No Grill is a Waldo neighborhood dive bar known for wall-to-wall televisions, karaoke, and an annual hospice fundraiser run in memory of the owner’s brother.
Description
Patrick’s Bar and No Grill is a small neighborhood dive at 8251 Wornall Road in the south end of Waldo, owned by Pat Sanders.12 The bar’s name is a straightforward warning to walk-in guests — there is no kitchen and no food service — and the room leans into its identity as a drinks-only “everybody knows your name” hangout with karaoke and a dense array of televisions for sports.23 Since 2012 the bar has hosted the Craig Sanders Memorial.1K Run, an August fundraiser Sanders started in memory of his brother Craig; it has raised more than $180,000 for Kansas City Hospice.1
Ownership and history
