Pawn & Pint is Kansas City’s first board-game tavern — a bar built around a 1,000+ game open library at 613 Walnut St near the River Market. Kickstarted to life in 2016, it closed in November 2024 and was saved twelve days later by four of its own longtime regulars, who bought it and reopened the doors — one of the cleaner “community rescues its third place” stories in recent KC business history.

Pawn & Pint pioneered the board-game-bar format in Kansas City: pay a flat all-day cover, pull anything from a four-figure game library, order from the bar and kitchen, stay all night.1 The events calendar leans into the format — trivia, karaoke, themed pop-up parties, D&D and RPG nights.1 The 2024 owner group reopened with a full kitchen (not only prepackaged snacks), signature cocktails at $11, and published membership tiers (monthly / annual / lifetime) that include free admission passes.2 The official site also links Discord and TikTok for the post-rescue community.1
