History

Nick Sallas opened Sallas Auto Repair in 1993 as a two-bay shop, with his mother helping run it.2 He came to it as a working technician rather than an investor, with prior experience at General Motors, Honda, and Goodyear, and holds ASE Master Certification.2 The company’s own account gives September 1993 as the start; the Better Business Bureau’s record gives August 1, 1993, and records incorporation of Sallas Auto Repair, Inc. on February 20, 1997.24

Carla Sallas joined the business in 1998 and took on administration and production management, which the company credits with the growth that followed.2 The Hickman Mills shop expanded well beyond its two original bays; a second location opened in Overland Park in 2005, and a third in Lee’s Summit in 2025.2

The business has traded under variants of the name — Sallas Automotive and Sallas Automotive Repair Center are recorded as alternate names on the corporate record, and a separate Better Business Bureau profile exists under “Sallas Automotive, Inc.”45 Whether that is a distinct legal entity or a duplicate listing is not resolved by the sources reviewed here.
