Sturm Brothers’ Custom Design & Fine Jewelry is a family-owned custom jeweller on East Broadway in downtown Excelsior Springs, with an in-house bench and CAD studio opened by the Sturm brothers and their mother in 2017.
Description
Sturm Brothers’ occupies a storefront at 111 E. Broadway in downtown Excelsior Springs, a Clay County spa town on the Northland side of the Kansas City metro — not to be confused with any out-of-state namesake.12 The shop describes itself as a family-owned custom jewelry store and states that the showroom is built around the making of the work: custom CAD design, casting and stone setting, plus a curated retail case and an in-house repair bench.134
The advertised custom path is two-step. A CAD team turns a client’s idea into multi-angle digital renderings (a 3D-printed try-on model is offered for a small fee); after approval, the shop prints and casts the piece in the client’s chosen precious metal and finishes it in-house. Clients may supply their own gold, diamonds and gemstones, or the shop will source them. Completed designs are guaranteed to the customer’s satisfaction.4
Downtown Excelsior Partnership’s visitor-bureau listing adds that repairs are completed on site, work is backed by a one-year warranty, purchases can be shipped, and remote personal-shopping / custom consults remain available after a visit.5 Those claims originate with the civic listing, not the company About page, and are recorded as such.
The company’s own site currently sells Citizen watches alongside jewelry (a Promaster Dive is featured on the home-page Instagram feed) and maintains catalog pages for engagement rings, loose stones and diamonds, designer jewelry, and men’s alternative-metal wedding rings.1
Ownership and history
The shop’s own About page states that two brothers, Jordan and Joseph, “had a dream to create a custom jewelry store” and, “together with their mother,” opened the store in downtown Excelsior Springs. It does not give an opening year. It reports seven dedicated team members and the house line “You are exceptional! Your jewelry should be too!”3
A 11 November 2022 feature on the Downtown Excelsior Partnership / Visit Excelsior site, titled “Celebrating 5 Years … Inside the World of Custom Jewelry,” dates the opening to 2017 and names the Sturm brothers, Jordan and Joseph, as the founders, working with their mother TJ, sister-in-law Libby, and Joseph’s wife Megan. It also states that the brothers “grew up in the jewelry industry,” that Jordan is a graduate of the New Approach School for Jewelers, and that Joseph became a CAD-certified jewelry designer in 2019.6 The first-party About page corroborates the school (Jordan: New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee, Graduate Bench Jeweler Program diploma) and Joseph’s CAD credential (MatrixGold Artisan Certification; associate degree from Kansas City Metropolitan Community College).3 Which earlier jewelry shop they grew up in is “.

A closed directory listing for Pointer’s Jewelers at the same Broadway street number appears in third-party maps. No first-party or press source located in this pass connects that earlier name to the Sturms, and the connection is not asserted.
