Description

Taqueria La Nueva is the family business of Juan Lozano and his wife Julia Rohrer, who opened it as a food truck in 2019. Lozano builds the menu around the authentic dishes he grew up on at a family ranch outside Arandas, in the Jalisco highlands — the heartland of both tequila and birria.¹ The couple opened a brick-and-mortar in Overland Park (12561 Antioch Rd), then a midtown KCMO location at 3906 Waddell Ave — just west of Southwest Trafficway, in the long-vacant former home of Nichols Lunch, which they spent six months remodeling — growing to three area locations in roughly six years.¹
