TJ’s Cafe South is a home-cooking café at 1302 N Scott Ave, Belton, MO 64012, opened by Jim and Angela Sadler after they bought the former Oden’s Restaurant (closed fall 2024 after 36 years). Sister cafés: TJ’s Cafe (Grandview, 12408 Blue Ridge) and Englewood Café (Independence). Same menu family across the three. Tier 1 local multi-unit mom-and-pop cafés.12

Description

Classic south-metro café food: breakfast and lunch home cooking in the Oden’s building on North Scott. Jim Sadler described the three rooms as a “mom-and-pop chain” sharing one menu.1 Yelp lists broad daily hours (e.g. Mon–Fri 6am–8pm patterns — verify before publishing filters).2

Ownership and history

Jim Sadler — longtime Grandview café operator (original TJ’s burned 2016; relocated to 12408 Blue Ridge); “seven or eight” eateries over a career; grew up Grandview farm boy; married 30 years to Angela (Richards-Gebaur Marine-base family; Grandview High).1 Englewood Café at 10904 E Winner Rd, Independence, is part of the same trio.1

Belton acquisition: Oden’s closed fall 2024; Sadlers bought and reopened as TJ’s South despite tough timing (Angela health issues; Jim age 76 at open).1
