Va Bene Italian Eatery was a scratch-pasta Italian restaurant at 8232 Mission Road, Prairie Village (Corinth Square), operated by W. VinZant Restaurants. Opened 2020; closed end of July 2026 after failing to reach a new lease agreement with the shopping center. Signature dishes (handmade pastas, braised short ribs) were expected to continue at sister restaurants Louie’s Wine Dive and Gram & Dun. Description

Va Bene focused on simple, fresh Italian cooking centered on freshly made pasta, with indoor/outdoor dining and curbside pickup while operating. It built a JoCo following over six years in Corinth Square before lease talks failed.13

The same Corinth Square cluster gained Flower Child (opened August 11, 2026) as Va Bene exited.1

Ownership and history

Operated by W. VinZant Restaurants (Whitney VinZant group), the same parent as Louie’s Wine Dive and Gram & Dun. Closure announced July 2026 on social media and covered by Star, Johnson County Post, KCTV, and Kansas City magazine — inability to reach a new lease with Corinth Square ownership, not a brand-wide group shutdown.123

Staff were expected to transition within the restaurant group; menu signatures to live on at sister restaurants.1
