Description

Vocci was established in 1970 by John Falzone, known as “Mr. Vocci,” in partnership with Tony Iocovozzi, to make quality Italian food for the busy Italian restaurants of Kansas City’s North End and to serve the neighborhood’s large Italian community; Iocovozzi left shortly after the business started, and the Falzone family took over the whole company.² The Falzone children grew up around the business and joined their father in making the food, and successive generations have kept it a family operation.² After Mr. Vocci died in 2010, his sons Tom and Greg Falzone carried the business on.² Greg’s husband, Chuk Lowry-Falzone — self-described as “a quiet Scottish boy from Ohio” — later “married into the ownership” and now helps run the shop alongside Greg.¹² The two accounts are consistent: Columbus Park KC names sons Tom and Greg as the successors, and KC Magazine documents Greg and Chuk as the current operating pair.
