Description

Belvoir combines Missouri-grape wine service with a large historic campus used for weddings and events — architecture, grounds, and overnight lodging differentiate it from urban tasting-room wineries such as Amigoni.13 Wine tasting is advertised seven days a week at published hours; visitors may view historic features and artifacts while tasting.1

Ownership and history

Winery business: Family-owned; first-party wine page names sparkling wines after the three granddaughters of the winery founders (labels display granddaughter characters).5 Exact founding year of the winery operation still “ if a calendar year is required beyond “family founders.”

Odd Fellows campus (historic): First-party history page summarizes the Odd Fellows Home District as architecturally and historically significant for Missouri I.O.O.F. care of elderly, indigent, and orphaned members from 1900 onward. After the original Winner Hotel structure burned in February 1900, the Grand Lodge of Missouri I.O.O.F. commissioned a fireproof Administration Building by Albert Knell and William B. Ittner (Ittner nationally known for school architecture). Later campus buildings include the Old Folks Building (1907–1908, E.C. Eckle) and Old Hospital (1923, Samuel M. Hitt of Kansas City); a 1904 school by J.H. Felt & Co. was demolished mid-century.2 Liberty won the home site over other Missouri cities in 1894 balloting (city + Liberty Lodge #49 incentives).2 The first-party narrative notes ~600 burials in the on-site Odd Fellows cemetery.2
