Casa Ama is Robin Krause’s Mexican-inspired restaurant at Corinth Square in Prairie Village — opened June 2026 in the former Salty Iguana space. Krause is a Prairie Village native (Shawnee Mission East grad) and the founder of Billie’s Grocery (see billies-grocery). Casa Ama blends travel-informed Mexican flavors with Mediterranean and Asian touches, with chef Anourom Thomson helping build the menu. Private event space (the Agave Room) and agave cocktails round it out.
Description
Casa Ama is Robin Krause’s first Mexican-inspired concept — a travel-influenced dining room at Corinth Square in Prairie Village that opened in June 2026 in the long-time Salty Iguana space (Krause’s son got his first job there). Krause is the Prairie Village–born founder of billies-grocery, and for Casa Ama she partnered with chef Anourom Thomson (who also runs Anousone in Overland Park) to develop a menu that blends street corn, mole, and fajitas with Mediterranean and Asian touches — pork belly noodle salad, fried branzino, chicken caesar smash tacos. Agave cocktails (“casa-ritas”) anchor the bar, and a private event space called the Agave Room adds an event layer to the concept. Sunday weekend brunch is planned for a future expansion. “Ama” means love in Spanish, Japanese, and several other languages — the name is Krause’s.
