DoubleTap KC

DoubleTap KC is an independent, locally owned virtual-reality arcade and pub in Kansas City’s River Market, at 310 Oak Street. DoubleTap KC is a virtual-reality arcade and social pub in the River Market district of Kansas City, Missouri, at 310 Oak Street. Housed in roughly 5,000 square feet of a historic building — reported to have once held the Muehlebach Brewing Company — it sits next to Strange Days Brewing Co. ¹

The venue’s signature draw is its private VR lanes, where guests can eat, drink, and socialize while playing solo or head-to-head across a rotating library of titles (shooters, rhythm games, escape-room experiences, and multiplayer adventures); contemporary listings cite 50+ titles, while early coverage described roughly 30 VR games rotated monthly. Lanes are offered in individual, standard (up to five people / two headsets), and party (up to ten people / three headsets) configurations. Ownership and history

DoubleTap KC is independently and locally owned. It was founded by Terry Keith, who serves as co-founder/owner (described in business listings as CEO/owner), with Eddie Reese as his partner and the venue’s operations manager. ¹²

Keith is Kansas City born and raised, holds a degree in entrepreneurship and business management from the University of Central Missouri, and spent roughly seven years in healthcare IT at Cerner. He first tried virtual reality in late 2018 and, recognizing the appeal of a social, “group atmosphere” VR experience paired with a bar, began developing DoubleTap with Reese soon after — initially as a nights-and-weekends venture while keeping his day job. ¹²
