Description

Friendly Bean Coffee is an independent Northland coffee shop and roaster founded by John Neudorf, who brought specialty coffee north of the Missouri River at a time when options were limited.12 Its primary café sits on the corner of North Oak Trafficway and Barry Road (420 NE Barry Rd), and the company roasts its own beans in-house (on a 15-kilo Ambex roaster).13 A second location, Friendly Bean Woodneath, opened in January 2022 inside the Woodneath Library Center (8900 NE Flintlock Rd) in the Liberty area.45 Friendly Bean was the Northland Pick in the Best Coffee recognition for its role as a longtime anchor in an often-overlooked part of the metro.
