Grand Coffee Co. was founded by Salvatore Silvio, who opened the flagship Grand Boulevard location near Crown Center roughly a year before July 2024 — placing the founding around 2023.4 Silvio is the grandson of Paul Silvio, who founded the Kansas City pizzeria Antonio’s Pizza in the 1950s; other family members own Em Chamas Brazilian Grill and Hawg Jaw Brew & Que in the metro.4 Though he comes from a long line of KC restaurateurs, Salvatore was the first in his family to enter the coffee business — an idea he traced to time spent studying in coffee shops during his college years.45 In 2024 the company opened its first Johnson County location, a shop with a drive-thru at 10610 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee, Kansas.4
