Description

Jungalow is a tropical tiki-themed bar located at 4117 Mill Street in the southwest corner of the Westport neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri.¹ The venue brands itself as a “secluded hideaway where jungle vibes meet tiki spirits,” serving made-to-order tropical cocktails built around premium spirits and exotic flavors in a heavily decorated, Instagram-forward setting.¹² It occupies the lower level beneath Westport Landing, in a space that several years prior had been a Panera location.²³

Jungalow opened in 2024 as part of a broad expansion of new Westport nightlife venues developed by the same operator.³ As of 2026-08-13 the operator’s own page lists hours of Friday and Saturday, 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM — narrower than the Thursday-through-Sunday evening hours carried by third-party listings on the 2026-06 pass.¹² Recent customer reviews describe a lively tiki atmosphere with strong cocktails.²⁴

The bar is one node in an interconnected cluster of adjacent venues — marketed collectively as the “Horseshoe” district — that share a single hospitality operator and allow patrons to move between venues without re-checking ID.⁵

Ownership and history

Jungalow is operated by Allred Management, a Midwest hospitality, construction, and real estate company whose owner is Brett Allred.⁴⁶ Allred Management runs the Westport Bars portfolio, a collection of clustered Westport (and additional Kansas City–area) venues that includes Westport Landing, The Patio, Bar & Rec, Q Kansas City, Lotus, The Horseshoe, and Uncle Jim’s Pool Hall, among roughly 15 properties.⁵⁶

Jungalow was conceived as a tiki concept within Allred’s southwest-Westport development push. In pre-opening coverage Allred described the goal as making the space “very vibey and Instagram-worthy,” and confirmed the location had previously been a Panera.³ The venue is a built-from-scratch new concept rather than a rebrand of a prior bar, and it opened in 2024.²³
