Love Counts Hobby Shop is an independent hobby and trading-card store in Suite 112 of the Shoppes at Barry Plaza, 8560 N Green Hills Rd in the Kansas City Northland. It trades as Love Counts, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company formed 9 February 2026 whose registered agent is Orion Counts; the storefront held its grand opening on 18 July 2026. It describes itself in its own words as a “new, local hobby shop in the Northland” selling TCG, Warhammer, art supplies, books, and more, and it runs a weekly in-store event calendar — Paint-Night Wednesdays plus Pokémon, Magic, Lorcana and open trade nights. It is one of the newest shops on the Role-Players Guild of Kansas City’s metro store roster. This is a thinly documented subject: there is no press coverage, the business’s own domain serves only a placeholder page, and several fields below are unresolved and flagged as such.

Description

Love Counts Hobby Shop is a first-year hobby store in the Kansas City Northland. Its own one-line description, carried on its Facebook page, is the fullest self-statement located: “New, local hobby shop in the Northland. TCG, Warhammer, Art Supplies, Books, & More!”1

The shop sits in Suite 112 of the Shoppes at Barry Plaza, a retail and office strip center at 8560 N Green Hills Rd leased by Windfield Real Estate.2 Google Maps and the shop’s own TikTok bio both carry the suite number — Google as “#112,” TikTok as “Site 112” — while the Facebook page and every Facebook event listing print only the street address.3415 Neighbouring suites in the same center house a dance studio, a barbershop and a Pizza Hut, which places the shop in a neighbourhood-services strip rather than a destination retail corridor.2

The product mix spans two hobbies that often sit in separate stores. On the trading-card side the shop runs Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Disney Lorcana, with a singles case — a customer account posted to several Kansas City area buy/sell groups describes “a nice selection of both vintage and modern” cards.67 On the miniatures side it stocks Warhammer and Citadel paints; a pre-opening TikTok announcing the range was captioned “WARHAMMER is a go-go!”8 To those it adds art supplies, books and board games.17

Programming is weekly and in-store. Paint-Night Wednesdays were introduced in August 2026 — the shop’s August calendar post reads “Paint-Night Wednesdays are new, and tons of fun, join us with your current [project]” — and a Reddit commenter recommending the shop to a Northland Warhammer beginner described it simply as “Paint night every Wednesday at Love Counts Hobby Shop.”910 Alongside those run Pokémon Trade Night, Magic Trade Night, Lorcana Trade Night and a recurring Open Trade Night scheduled through 29 December 2026.56 A monthly calendar is published to Facebook and displayed in the shop.911

The shop’s name carries its owner’s surname — Orion Counts — and reads as a play on it. No first-party statement of the name’s origin was located this pass, so that reading is recorded as an observation, not as the business’s own account.1213

This page is not Level One Game Shop in the River Market or TableTop Game & Hobby in Overland Park, the two established metro game stores already in the Registry; not Mission: Board Games KC North, the other Northland entry on the same guild roster; and not Fountain City Collectibles on N Oak Trafficway, a separate Northland card shop that appears alongside Love Counts in Kansas City collector-group discussion.147

Ownership and history

The business is registered with the State of Missouri as LOVE COUNTS, LLC, a domestic limited liability company, charter number LC014704633. Its Articles of Organization were filed and took effect on 9 February 2026, its duration is perpetual, and its status on the state register was Active when the record was read on 8 September 2026. The registered agent is COUNTS, ORION. The filing history shows a single document — the original Creation filing — with no amendments, no change of agent and no notice of winding up.15

Orion Counts is the owner. The state filing names him as registered agent and lists no other party; his public Facebook profile lists him as “Owner at Love Counts Hobby Shop,” living in Kansas City, Missouri, and formerly General Manager at Green Dirt Farm Creamery — the Weston, Missouri sheep dairy’s creamery operation.1512 The shop publishes orionmcounts@lovecounts.net as its contact address, which ties the same name to the business domain.13 No co-owner, business partner or investor appears on the state filing or in any other source located this pass. A registered agent is not by itself proof of sole ownership — Missouri LLC filings do not list members — so sole ownership is not claimed here.

The LLC’s principal office and registered office are one address in Kansas City ZIP 64152, which is not the store address. It appears to be a residential address and is therefore deliberately not reproduced on this page; it is public record on the state register for anyone who needs it.15 The point that matters for the Registry is that the entity’s registered address and the retail address are different places, and only the retail address belongs here.

The storefront followed the entity by five months. The earliest promotional activity found is a run of “coming soon” TikTok videos previewing the buildout, the Warhammer range and the shelving.4168 By 7 July 2026 the shop was hosting a Pokémon Trade Night at 8560 N Green Hills Rd, so its doors were open to the public before the formal launch. Whether it was selling on that date, or only hosting, is not established.5 The grand opening was held Saturday 18 July 2026 at 2:00pm, with Snow & Roast Mobile Cafe on site.1718 The shop posted the following day: “What an amazing Grand Opening! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate… Our Love Counts community keeps growing, come see us today, 10AM-6PM!”19

Since opening it has been added to the Role-Players Guild of Kansas City local game store roster, the guild’s public list of KC-metro tabletop shops, where it is one of 25 entries and the only Kansas City Missouri entry linked to a Facebook page rather than to a website.14

No press coverage of any kind was located. Searches against the Kansas City Star, KCUR, Startland News, Northeast News and Platte County outlets returned nothing on this business. Apart from the state register, every fact on this page traces to the shop’s own channels, to Google’s business listing, to event aggregators mirroring the shop’s Facebook events, or to customer comment. That is normal for a business a few weeks past its opening, and is stated here so the sourcing is not mistaken for something stronger.

TCG, Warhammer, Art Supplies, Books, & More!”; category “Hobby Store”; location “Kansas City, Missouri”; “100% recommend (8 reviews)” against a 5.0 rating; the state “Closed now”; and the address “8560 N. Both read from the search index only — the Windfield page is reCAPTCHA-gated and the CommercialCafe property detail is client-rendered; neither resolved on a Firecrawl scrape. Assert: the center’s name, its retail/office character and its leasing agent. Suite-mate evidence for the same building, also from the search index: All About Dance Studio at Ste 110, Pizza Hut at Ste 114, and Element Studio KC at Suite 122. ↩ ↩2

  6. Love Counts Hobby Shop — Facebook product and play posts, read from the search index only; not fetched. URLs (“Lorcana fan? Disney collector? Assert: Disney Lorcana and Pokémon programming, and a Magic singles case. ↩ ↩2

  7. Customer recommendation text circulated in Kansas City area Facebook buy/sell and collector groups — “Check out Love Counts Hobby Shop off of Green Hills Rd in the Northland! Great selection of various TCGs, books, board games, and more!” and, separately, “It’s called Love Counts Hobby Shop. Staff was great had a nice selection of both vintage and modern [cards].” Representative URL (“Kansas City store with various TCGs and games”). Read from the search index only; not fetched. Treated as customer comment, not first-party — the identical recommendation sentence recurs across several unrelated group threads, so it is used only to corroborate the product categories the shop already claims, never as independent evidence. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  8. Love Counts Hobby Shop, TikTok — “WARHAMMER is a go-go! Love Counts Hobby Shop coming soon!” tagged #KansasCity #Warhammer #Citadelpaint #HobbyShop #TCG. URL (Read from the search index only; not fetched. Asserts: Warhammer and Citadel paints in the range, announced before opening.) ↩ ↩2

  10. “Welcoming places in the Northland to start WH40K?”, r/kansascity, Reddit. URL (Read from the search index only — the thread was not fetched; Firecrawl declines reddit.com and direct, .rss and .json fetches all returned HTTP 403. Asserts, as indexed, two comments: “Love Counts Hobby Shop just opened on Green Hills, you might give them a shot” and “Paint night every Wednesday at Love Counts Hobby Shop.” A third indexed comment — “They do the free mini of the month on the first Saturday and the owner is super nice…” — could not be attributed to a specific shop within the thread and is not used. Treated as customer comment corroborating that the shop is open and runs a weekly paint night.) ↩

  11. Love Counts Hobby Shop, Facebook post, early September 2026 — “Calendar for this month is up! We will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day, and hope each one of you…” URL (Read from the search index only; not fetched, and indexed as “3 days ago” / “5h” against a 2026-09-08 search. Labor Day 2026 fell on Monday 7 September. Asserts: a September 2026 calendar and a one-day Labor Day closure. Used as the most recent first-party operating signal. Note: the same search result’s “Recent posts” panel carried a September 2024 Labor Day notice belonging to a different page; that text is not attributed to this business.) ↩

  12. Orion Counts — public Facebook profile, accessed 2026-09-08. URL (Read from the search index only; not fetched. Asserts, as indexed: “Lives in Kansas City, Missouri”; “Owner at Love Counts Hobby Shop”; “Former General Manager at Green Dirt Farm Creamery.” This is the only source located that names an owner. It is self-reported, and is corroborated only by the shop’s published contact email orionmcounts@lovecounts.net.) ↩ ↩2

  13. Love Counts Hobby Shop on Facebook — contact details block, as rendered on the page’s localised mirrors, accessed 2026-09-08. URLs and facebook.com (Read from the search index only; not fetched. Asserts, as indexed: phone (816) 569-0009 and email orionmcounts@lovecounts.net under the page’s contact-info heading, together with the same “New, local hobby shop in the Northland” description and a like count of 908 — an earlier snapshot than the 926 indexed against the canonical URL, recorded here as evidence of a growing page rather than as a conflict.) ↩ ↩2

  14. Role-Players Guild of Kansas City (RPGKC) — “Local Game Stores,” accessed 2026-09-08. URL (HTTP 200 via Firecrawl; the page returns 403 to a plain curl. Asserts: the catalog entry “Love Counts Hobby Shop — Kansas City, MO,” linked to facebook.com — the only Kansas City Missouri entry on the 25-store list carrying no website of its own. RPGKC describes itself as a nonprofit “dedicated to enhancing tabletop hobby gaming in Kansas City and the surrounding areas since 1990.” Used as the community corroboration that this is a recognised metro game shop, and as the source of the subject itself.) ↩ ↩2

  15. Missouri Secretary of State — Business Entity Detail, “LOVE COUNTS, LLC,” read 2026-09-08 (rendered via Firecrawl; the register returns HTTP 403 to a plain fetch). URL — reached from the entity search at bsd.sos.mo.gov, an “All Words” search on Love Counts returning 2 of 2 results: this entity and the unrelated, administratively dissolved LOVE DISCOUNTS INC. (charter 00452494, formed 1998). (Asserts, as printed on the record: header “Limited Liability Company Details as of 9/8/2026”; Name LOVE COUNTS, LLC; Type Limited Liability Company; Charter No. LC014704633; Domesticity Domestic; Registered Agent COUNTS, ORION; Status Active; Date Formed 2/9/2026; Duration Perpetual; and a filing table with a single row — order 17481564, action Creation, type Articles of Organization, Date Filed 02/09/2026, Effective Date 02/09/2026. The record also carries a principal-office and registered-office address in Kansas City ZIP 64152, unchanged since 2/9/2026 and distinct from the store address; it appears residential and is deliberately not reproduced on this page. Used as the only government-record source here, and as the independent corroboration of the owner’s name.) ↩ ↩2 ↩3
