Of Course Kitchen and Company is a fine-dining New American restaurant at 7753 W 159th St in the Bluhawk mixed-use development in southern Overland Park, Kansas.12 The roughly 3,000-square-foot space features an open kitchen and full bar, and the menu blends familiar American and Midwestern dishes with bold spices and South Indian / Asian fusion flair.34
Representative dishes have included braised short-rib samosas with blackberry-tamarind chutney, Madras curry scallops, masala duck ravioli, palak paneer macaroni and cheese, and wagyu smash burgers — pairing approachable comfort formats with chef-owner Swetha Newcomb’s South Indian heritage.34 The restaurant positions itself as fine dining without formality; Newcomb has described wanting “guests to have a fine dining experience without feeling like they need to be extremely dressed up.”4 A curated global whiskey selection, including bottles from Japan and India, is presented as a tribute to her father.4

Ownership and history
Of Course Kitchen and Company is independently and owner-operated by chef Swetha Newcomb and her husband, Jesse Newcomb.13 There is no corporate parent or multi-unit restaurant group involved.
Newcomb was born in India and credits her mother as her earliest culinary influence.4 She earned a certified sous-chef credential through Johnson County Community College’s chef apprenticeship program, then spent several years cooking in Kansas City–area restaurants and running her own private catering company before opening her first brick-and-mortar restaurant.135 Of Course opened in August 2023 at Bluhawk as the realization of a long-held dream.3
In January 2026 — roughly two years after opening — Newcomb was named a 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Midwest, one of six Kansas City–area culinary names recognized that year.26 She was also named a 2025 “NextGen Leader” by the Kansas City Business Journal.1
