Pho Good is Peter Nguyen’s Vietnamese restaurant in Shawnee — at 10952 W 74th Terrace since relocating from its original Shawnee Mission Pkwy location. Nguyen, a native of Vietnam, came to the United States as a teenager in 1979 and has been in the Kansas City restaurant industry since 1995, when he opened Dragon Palace. After running Dragon Palace until 2004 and subsequently operating Oriental Feast Chinese Buffet, he took over Pho Good in 2012. The Pitch critic Charles Ferruzza reviewed the restaurant in December 2013, highlighting the slow-simmered pho broth and an unusually varied vermicelli menu — seven bun dishes in all. The menu spans pho, Bun Bo Hue, Hu Tieu, rice plates, grilled meats and seafood, and Vietnamese coffee and bubble teas. Currently open seven days a week; Yelp-updated through April 2026.
