Ownership and history

Sara McGinty’s is owned by Sean Meyer, who also owns and operates Third Coast Pizza next door (opened 2019); the two establishments share a single kitchen, and Meyer reports that some Third Coast regulars have become bar regulars.¹ The bar opened in August 2025 in the Quivira Square shopping center.¹ Meyer derived the name by combining his childhood pit bull’s name, Sara, with the surname of an Irish pub owner from the film The Boondock Saints.¹ Meyer grew up in Chicago before his family relocated to Prairie Village, Kansas, and built his career in the Kansas City restaurant scene.³
