Strang Hall is a chef-driven food hall in the Edison District of downtown Overland Park, Kansas, housing a collection of independent restaurant stalls, a shared bar, a coffee café, and a catering operation under one roof. Opened in December 2019 by Tim Barton’s Edison Factory development as a culinary incubator, it was acquired in September 2025 by Kansas City restaurant group Culinary Virtue (Char Bar, Meat Mitch, Beer Kitchen), which refreshed the vendor lineup while keeping the multi-stall concept. It currently houses stalls including anousone (Lao-Thai), Fenix (tacos), Pizza Kraft, Tora Zushi (sushi), and a new Beer Kitchen counter.
Description
Strang Hall is a food hall — a single venue housing multiple independent restaurant stalls rather than one restaurant — located at 7313 W 80th Street in the Edison District of downtown Overland Park, Kansas.12 It markets itself as “a collective of five chef-driven restaurants under one roof,” set in “a casual, modern space in the heart of historic Overland Park,” with an outdoor lawn featuring cornhole and live music alongside a full bar.21
As of 2026 the hall’s stalls include anousone (Lao-Thai Southeast Asian comfort food), Fenix (tacos), Pizza Kraft (pizza, subs, and salads), Tora Zushi (sushi/Japanese), and Beer Kitchen (a gastropub counter added under the new ownership in September 2025), supported by shared Strang Bar, Strang Café, and Strang Catering operations.23 The reimagined Strang Café sources coffee from Prefix Coffee, syrups and pastries from Fika Coffee, baked goods from Kate Smith Soiree, and juice from Zen Donkey Farms.3
Ownership and history
Strang Hall opened in December 2019 in the Edison District, a mixed-use redevelopment in downtown Overland Park created by entrepreneur Tim Barton — former CEO of Freightquote (which he sold in a roughly $365 million exit in 2014) — through his Edison Factory / Menlo Food Labs ventures.45 The venue is named for William B. Strang Jr., the founder of Overland Park.4 At launch it positioned itself as a culinary incubator and “launching point for food entrepreneurs,” in the vein of the Lenexa Public Market, giving chefs a low-overhead stall to prove out concepts.64 Austin-based restaurateur Kevin Warden was associated with the venture as CEO.4
In September 2025, Strang Hall was acquired by Culinary Virtue, the Kansas City restaurant group behind Char Bar, Meat Mitch, and Beer Kitchen.37 The new ownership added a Beer Kitchen food-hall counter (debuting Sept. 26, 2025) and reimagined the Strang Café with several local partner brands, while retaining the multi-stall food-hall format.3 In announcing the deal, Culinary Virtue said it was “excited to usher Strang Hall into its next chapter with a mix of fresh concepts and introducing beloved local brands.”3
