Ugly Glass & Co. is a two-floor, 10,000-plus-square-foot vintage-and-handmade market in Kansas City’s historic West Bottoms at 1285 Hickory Street, in a 120-year-old brick warehouse. Created by Jenny and Skip Alexander in 2012 (relocated to the West Bottoms in 2014), it sells vintage, upcycled, and locally made goods, gifts, home décor, and vintage records — open every weekend, with extended hours on the First Friday Weekend.

Ugly Glass & Co. is a vintage-and-handmade market in the West Bottoms at 1285 Hickory Street, spread across two floors and more than 10,000 square feet of a roughly 120-year-old brick warehouse.¹² Billed as “a handmade market with a splash of vintage charm,” it carries an eclectic mix of vintage, upcycled, and locally made goods, gifts, home décor, and vintage records.¹ Its schedule is a useful example of the district’s middle model: open weekly (Friday 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.) with extended hours on the monthly First Friday Weekend (Friday–Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.–4 p.m.) — see the district schedule.¹

Ownership and history

Ugly Glass & Co. was created by Jenny and Skip Alexander in July 2012, and in July 2014 they moved the store into its current 100-plus-year-old West Bottoms warehouse at 1285 Hickory Street.¹ It is independently and locally owned.
