Mission Woods, Kansas is a city of 203 people (2020 census) in northeast Johnson County, a tiny incorporated pocket in the Mission Hills / State Line landscape of the Kansas City metro.1 J. C. Nichols laid out development here in the 1930s; the name combines a nineteenth-century mission association with the wooded setting.1
