Patrick Woolam is a North Kansas City–based guitarist, vocalist, and singer-songwriter who serves as the founding bandleader of Lost Wax, a Kansas City event and wedding band that has held high-profile civic gigs including the 2023 NFL Draft house-band slot.12 Active on the Kansas City live circuit and as a guitar teacher, Woolam fronts Lost Wax as lead vocalist and guitarist while also maintaining his own catalog of original music released under his name and under the earlier project Patrick Woolam and The Transients.13

Lost Wax
Woolam is the full-time bandleader, lead vocalist, and guitarist for Lost Wax, a Kansas City mashup cover band managed through Jukeboxx Media that performs at weddings, corporate functions, and luxury events, fusing pop, rock, hip-hop, and R&B across multiple decades.1 Lost Wax was selected as the house band for the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City, performing daily across the three-day event staged outside Union Station, where Woolam was identified as one of the band’s leaders.2 The band also serves as the house band for Second Chance Stage, a talent-competition series produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines for Max and the Magnolia Network; the show was filmed at Kansas City’s Midland Theatre and premiered November 28, 2024.45 On Kansas City Royals Opening Day 2024 (March 28, 2024, at Kauffman Stadium), Woolam performed the national anthem alongside fellow Lost Wax vocalist Shelby Winfrey.6
Original music
Apart from his work fronting Lost Wax, Woolam has released original material as a singer-songwriter. His album Long Time Coming was issued on CD in 2013.7 He has also recorded under the project name Patrick Woolam and The Transients.3 His catalog is available on streaming services including Spotify.8
Teaching & live circuit
Woolam teaches guitar and is a regular on the Kansas City live-music circuit.1 According to his management bio, he began playing guitar as a child and has shared stages with national touring acts; per a VoyageKC interview, he started playing music around age six and took up guitar after his father’s instrument, citing Jimi Hendrix’s Axis: Bold as Love as an early influence.13
