Bel-Air Coffee & Cafe is a small, music-themed coffee shop on the ground floor of the Bel-Air office building at 95th Street and Nall Avenue in Overland Park, opened in the late winter of 2026 by Geoffrey Fichman — a cook with fifteen years in restaurant kitchens who, three years cancer-free, wanted “a calmer work environment.” His brother Adam Fichman owns the building, having moved his digital agency Lifted Logic there. The shop pours Cooper’s Cask Coffee from Rhode Island, offers mushroom drip coffee and gluten-free baked goods, and is entered from the parking lot behind the building.
Description
The café is tucked into the first floor of the Bel-Air building, a mid-century professional building at the southwest corner of 95th and Nall on the Overland Park side of the Prairie Village line; Yahoo’s listing puts the cross street at Reeds Road, and customers note the entrance is “on the back side” from the parking lot.12 Reviewers describe it as “inside a professional building, easy access on the first floor right as you enter with lots of parking,” “very clean and calm inside,” with “a variety of comfortable chairs and areas to sit in.”2 The Pitch’s opening notice called the aesthetic “music-themed.”3
The shop’s own pitch: “We do exceptional Espresso and Coffee. We get our coffee from Coopers Cask Coffee in Rhode Island, as well as sport some unique foods including Gluten free items.”2 Cooper’s Cask is a small-batch Rhode Island roaster known for barrel-aged and organic mushroom-blend coffees, which explains the Mushroom Drip Coffee ($2.50–3.00) that leads the online menu.4 The rest of the visible menu is short — Americano, matcha latte, a twice-baked chocolate-filled croissant, Pink House Alchemy vanilla-bean syrup as an add-on, and whiskey-barbecue peanuts by the bag — and reviewers add mocha, caramel latte, tea, and a raspberry-filled cookie.425 Yelp reviewers through August 2026 rate it 5.0 on seven reviews; one wished “my office had this cute coffee shop inside.”2
The Whole Person, the KC disability-services nonprofit, held a “Sipping and Signing” ASL social at the café on June 13, 2026.6
Ownership and history
Geoffrey Fichman opened the café after “15 years in high-stress restaurant kitchens — and now three years cancer-free,” wanting “a calmer work environment,” according to a post by former Kansas City Star retail reporter Joyce Smith on her Joyce KC pages in February 2026.78 His LinkedIn lists him as a food-production professional with André’s Confiserie Suisse and Johnson County Community College on his record.9 His brother Adam Fichman — founder and owner of the Overland Park web-design and digital-marketing agency Lifted Logic — “bought Overland Park’s Bel-Air building a few years ago and recently moved his business” there; Lifted Logic lists its address as 5600 West 95th Street.710 Geoffrey “softly opened Bel-Air Coffee & Cafe on the first floor.”7
The timeline is tight. On February 25, 2026, Overland Park council member Melissa Cheatham posted “Hello from the new Bel Air Coffee & Cafe at 95th and Nall! It is in the building where John’s Tailor used to be, on the back side. They are still putting in the finishing touches.”1 By March 12 The Pitch listed it among six new food-and-drink spots, open 7 to 4 daily except Sunday.3 A Tripadvisor reviewer who “checked out the newly opened place in our neighborhood” on April 3 wrote that “the owner and barista were very friendly and loved talking about their new establishment.”5 Yelp reviews begin March 10, 2026; one from July mentions “a super nice gentleman helping me,” and an earlier search-surfaced review said the owner’s father, Jan, was filling in for him that day.211
