Blanc Champagne Bar opened October 2024 in Midtown’s historic Netherland Building (3835 Main St), bringing European everyday-champagne culture to KC. Owner Jordin Johnson — KC-born, UMKC alum — stocked 100+ sparkling wines and built a rooftop bar (Blanc Sun Club) with 360° skyline views.
Description
Blanc Champagne Bar is Jordin Johnson’s Midtown bar and restaurant built around the idea that Champagne doesn’t require a special occasion. Housed in the 1928 Netherland Building (on the National Register of Historic Places, along the KC Streetcar line), Blanc stocks more than 100 sparkling wines from France, Spain, and Italy — from $9 Cava by the glass to Dom Pérignon by the bottle. The viral menu item is “Bubbles and a Bump,” 5g of Osetra caviar served on the back of your hand alongside a glass of Blanc de Blancs. Executive chef Tom Tabone (formerly Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen) handles the small-plates kitchen. The 11th-floor rooftop, Blanc Sun Club, adds a second bar with city views and a lighter bites menu.
Tier classification
