China Feast (Linwood Blvd)

China Feast at 200 Linwood Boulevard is a Chinese-American carryout with a drive-thru at the corner of Linwood and Main in Midtown, open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week. Its numbered menu — 83 entrées from chicken fried rice to Sha Cha shrimp, each served with a crab rangoon and fried rice, plus party trays and $5.99 sugar donuts — is the kind of neighborhood standby that Kansas City’s readers put among The Pitch’s seven Best Chinese Restaurant finalists for 2025. The name is shared with restaurants on East 12th Street and in KCK whose relationship to this one is undocumented.

Description

China Feast’s site pitches it plainly: “Come to China Feast on Linwood Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri for a Chinese cuisine experience you won’t forget! Some of our House Special Entrees include Moo Shu, Sweet & Sour Delight, and Egg Foo Young. We also serve Shrimp Fried Rice, Cashew Chicken, and Mongolian Pork. We’re south of Crown Center and Penn Valley Park. Order online for carryout!” The listing adds cuisines (Cantonese, Szechuan), vegetarian options, a drive-thru and outdoor seating.¹

The menu is a classic numbered takeout card. Eight appetizers (egg rolls, crab rangoon, spring rolls, seven steamed or fried dumplings, wings, crispy shrimp, shrimp rolls, ten sugar donuts) and five soups precede eighteen chicken entrées ($12.50–14.50) — from fried rice and lo mein through cashew, almond, Spring Field, Mongolian, Hunan, Empress, Kung Bao and curry — twelve beef, sixteen shrimp (including lobster sauce, Sha Cha and Empress), seven pork (Mongolian, twice-cooked, Hunan), seven house specials at $15.50–15.85 (General Tso’s, orange, sesame, moo shu, Happy Family, Sweet & Sour Delight, egg foo young), eight vegetarian plates at $12.50 (bean curd family style and curry, Hunan mixed vegetables), and five three-meat combos; every entrée “served with a crab rangoon and fried rice.” Daily specials (combo rice noodles, a fried-wings combo, a “Combo Jalapeño”), party trays from $50, jasmine iced tea and fountain sodas complete it.²

Ownership and history

No owner, opening date or press profile was found; the contact email on the site is a personal account. The name China Feast appears on at least two other Kansas City restaurants — one at 3119 E 12th Street with its own Facebook page, one at 1317 N 38th Street in Kansas City, Kansas with its own ordering site on the same platform, and a former listing at 3214 Main Street — and none of the three sites references the others, so whether they share owners, a family, or only a name is an open question.³⁴ The Pitch’s 2025 Best Chinese Restaurant ballot listed “China Feast” without an address.⁵

The space

200 Linwood Boulevard is the northeast corner of Linwood and Main, on the Main Street streetcar extension’s southern stretch, between the Union Hill and Hyde Park neighborhoods. The building’s history and prior tenants are undocumented here.
