Dolce Caffè was founded by the couple Michaela Krueger and Luka Pivk, who softly opened the café at the beginning of August 2025 and gradually phased in menu items over the following weeks.¹ Krueger, a former Olathe resident, had pondered the idea of turning the building into a café for some time.² The space at 435 S Parker St was originally a Tastee Freez in the 1960s, later operated as Sam’s Tastee Treat, and sat vacant for several years before the couple renovated it.¹² Krueger said of the launch, “The community has shown up in just the most amazing ways for us.”¹
