Fetterman’s at Creekside is the second and larger location of Scott and Kassie Fetterman’s Platte County deli — 3,200 square feet with a drive-thru at Elizabeth Street and Rustic Lane in Parkville’s Creekside development, opened in the summer of 2025 with a chamber ribbon cutting on July 17. It sells what the Platte City original does, at greater scale: Boar’s Head meats and cheeses sliced to order on Liscio’s hoagie rolls from Philadelphia, Reubens, Philly cheesesteaks and Italian subs, breakfast on biscuits, croissants and bagels until 11, Messenger Coffee, Blue Bell ice cream, Lucky’s kombucha, more than thirty cane-sugar sodas and sixty kinds of chips, a Parkville-only beer list, and catering by the sack lunch. The Pitch’s readers made Fetterman’s a Best Deli finalist for 2025.
Description
The Parkville page on the company’s site sets out the offer: “exceptional sandwiches, premium Boar’s Head meats and cheeses sliced to order, and Liscio’s Hoagies straight from Philly. Choose from 9 bread and wrap options, including gluten-free, and build your sandwich with 20 meats and 11 cheeses — hot or cold.” Any sandwich can go on gluten-free bread at no charge; the most popular are “our Reubens, Philly Cheesesteaks and Italian Sandwich”; breakfast — sandwiches on a biscuit, croissant or bagel, burritos, tacos, bowls, biscuits and gravy — runs until 11 every day with Messenger Coffee.1 What Parkville adds to the Platte City formula is room: “a full drive-thru,” indoor seating and a patio, “expanded pastries, ice cream, drinks — over 30 pure cane sugar sodas, chips — over 60 different flavors! We carry many hard to find brands that you don’t see in the Kansas City area,” and a Parkville-only beer list.1 The Landmark’s preview added a larger case of imported items, salads and meal-prep kits, and an expanded outdoor “meeting/dining/game space.”2
The Square store lists 324 items. Named sandwiches include the Italian, Show Me Club, Club, Kickin’ Chicken, Turkey Bacon, Turkey & Havarti, Mesquite Turkey & Cheddar, Butcher, Ham & Swiss (a weekly deli deal at $8.99 whole / $4.99 half in late August 2026), Meatball Sub, chicken-salad croissant and the Fetterman Philly Cheesesteak — “thinly sliced, grilled & seasoned sirloin steak on a toasted Liscio’s hoagie” with onions, peppers and white American ($12.99) — and the Reuben of corned beef brisket, baby Swiss, sauerkraut and Thousand Island on thick-cut marble rye, a third of a pound of meat regular or a half-pound large ($13.49–18.99). Breakfast runs from a $4.49 sausage-and-egg sandwich to a Big Country Scramble bowl (hash brown, three XL eggs, sausage, applewood bacon, peppers and onions, “35g of protein,” $9.99). Shelves carry Fetterman’s quarter-pound cookies, tiramisu squares, Dr. Brown’s, 1919 root beer, Old Vienna and Great Lakes chips, Ferris and Jonny Almond nuts and Joyva candies.31
Ownership and history
Scott Fetterman was raised in St. Louis and made his first sandwiches at 16 at a deli and market there — “I loved watching customers enjoy the food that I made, and that stuck with me.” He studied business at the University of Missouri but left to become a sales representative for Boar’s Head, and spent about 25 years in the grocery business before signing a lease for his own deli.24 A Platte City resident, he opened the first Fetterman’s at 2405 NW Prairie View Road on December 20, 2022 to a line out the door — “I tried to do a soft opening … There was nothing soft about it.” His wife Kassie, who handles marketing, credited “people who knew us and knew Scott’s heart”; their three sons work in the store, and the family farms on Kassie’s parents’ land near Weston.2 Fetterman trains staff to “chat it up” and to call orders by name rather than number.2
After two profitable years the couple announced the Parkville expansion in December 2024, prompted by a Creekside developer’s approach — “I wasn’t going to do another location yet,” Scott said — with construction underway at Rustic Lane and Elizabeth Street and a spring 2025 target.2 The Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025.5 By November 2025 the Platte County High School paper counted “several different deals with local brands” and “a great reputation amongst the North Kansas City food scene”; Scott’s stated goal is “to build a brand that lasts,” and he has said he hopes one day to franchise the concept regionally.42 In The Pitch’s Best of KC 2025, Fetterman’s was one of six Best Deli finalists behind Marco Polo’s and King G.6
