Jasmine Garden is a family-owned Chinese-American restaurant in the Cherokee Hills shopping center at 95th Street and Antioch Road in Overland Park, known in the neighborhood for generous portions of the standards — General Tso’s, Mongolian beef, shrimp with lobster sauce, Young Chow fried rice — and, increasingly, for house-made dumplings: its Toast ordering site trades as “Jasmine Garden (Ying Ying Dumpling House)” and says the family ran a dumpling house in China for eight years before coming to Kansas. It was a Best Chinese Restaurant finalist in The Pitch’s Best of KC 2025. Closed Mondays; delivery and carryout through two first-party ordering sites.

Description

Jasmine Garden’s own directions are the best description of where it is: “near the corner of W. 95th St. and Antioch Rd, across the street from Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, in between Sherwin Williams and Paradise Bay Car Wash,” inside the Cherokee Hills center.12 The website’s promise is quality and freshness — “all of your Chinese favorites from General Tso’s Chicken to Beef with Broccoli to Kung Pao Shrimp, always made fresh everyday” — and a room big enough for office lunches and family dinners.1 It runs a stack of order-size deals (free egg rolls, crab rangoon or canned sodas at $30, $35, $40, $45 and $50 thresholds) that mark it as a neighborhood delivery kitchen as much as a dining room.1

The Menufy menu is the long American-Chinese card, printed with Chinese names alongside: forty-odd lunch specials through 3 p.m. with rice, soup and a rangoon or egg roll; a “Build Your Own” (自创菜) stir-fry; appetizers from egg rolls and dragon rolls to fried and steamed dumplings by the eight and a “Bobo Tray” for two; soups including sizzling-rice and seafood-tofu; fried rice; house chef specials — orange, General Tso’s and sesame chicken, house pan-fried noodles, orange beef, Happy Family, Kung Pao shrimp and scallops; moo shu; chicken, beef, pork, shrimp and vegetable sections; noodles; a diet menu; a kids’ menu.3 The Toast storefront, under the Ying Ying Dumpling House name, foregrounds the dumplings: “Specializes in Chinese and Asian cuisine, with a highlight on dumplings … Indulge in our specialty dumplings that set us apart.”4 Reviews the restaurant republishes praise the Young Chow fried rice and “best shrimp & lobster sauce in KC area,” the General Tso’s and the portions.1

Ownership and history

The restaurant is “family-owned,” and the family’s background is the only biographical fact it publishes: “With 8 years of experience operating a dumpling house in China, we bring the flavors of traditional Chinese cuisine to our valued diners.”5 No owner or chef is named on either site or in local press. Business directories give a founding year of 2016 and one to ten employees; Tripadvisor’s listing was created around 2018.26 Whether the current family opened Jasmine Garden or bought an existing restaurant of that name — the two-brand identity (Jasmine Garden on Menufy and the older website, Ying Ying Dumpling House on the newer Toast build) hints at a change of hands or a pivot toward the dumpling house the family ran in China — is unresolved.

Pitch readers voted the restaurant a Best Chinese Restaurant finalist in the 2025 Best of KC ballot.7 Google shows roughly 500 reviews at 4.5 stars via the Toast page; Yelp’s listing (183 reviews) is dated August 2026.48

Last verified: 2026-08-28 · Source: the restaurant’s own Menufy ordering site (jasminegardenkc.com/order) · Confidence: High for the sections below; the moo shu, chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, vegetable, noodle, diet, kids and side sections were not captured, hence partial. ”+” marks a base price with paid options.3
