an Irish pub built into the limestone lagering cellars of the historic Weston Brewing Company at 500 Welt St in Weston, Missouri (Platte County), roughly 30 miles northwest of downtown Kansas City. The cellars date to the brewery’s 1842 founding and sit close to 60 feet underground; the pub, the adjoining America Bowman restaurant, and a small lodging cluster operate under the Weston Brewing Company banner.

Description
O’Malley’s 1842 Pub occupies the hand-dug limestone lagering cellars beneath the former Weston Brewing Company complex. The cellars sit almost 60 feet below grade and were cut to hold beer at cellar temperature before mechanical refrigeration.1 The site is presented publicly as a single hospitality cluster: the underground pub, the America Bowman restaurant in the main house above it, and lodging under the names The St. George Hotel, The Inn at Weston Landing, and Mandrake Place.2
The pub is a live-music room as much as a drinking room, and the cellars are the draw — a rare surviving pre-Prohibition brewing interior in the Kansas City metro that is still in commercial use rather than preserved as a museum.
Ownership and history
The Weston Brewing Company was established in 1842.1 Brewing at the site stopped with Prohibition and resumed for a period in the late 1990s.1 The O’Malley family opened the aboveground restaurant in the late 1970s and the underground pub in the 1980s; the pub carries their name.1
Michael Coakley and Corey Weinfurt purchased the property in 2005 and restored the brewing operation, relocating modern production next door while keeping the restaurant in the main house and the pub in the cellars.1
Independence: No chain, franchise, or outside-metro corporate parent identified. Treat as an independently owned Platte County operation.
