Paleteria El Chavo’s Grandview store opened March 7, 2024 on Blue Ridge Extension, the second location of the Independence paletería that has run since 2015. Same menu — paletas, nieves, mangonadas and fruit cups alongside tacos, tortas, quesabirrias and pressed juices — with slightly shorter hours than the original.

Description

The Grandview store sits on Blue Ridge Extension in the commercial strip near the Blue Ridge Boulevard / I-49 interchange, and runs the same numbered menu as the original: natural and gourmet paletas, nieves by the scoop, mangonadas, fresas con crema, elote en vaso, Dorilocos and the rest of the “crazy snacks” list, fresh-pressed juices, and a taquería side of $2.85 tacos, tortas, sopes, huaraches, quesabirrias, chilaquiles, burritos and burgers.¹² Hours are an hour shorter than Independence on weeknights (9 a.m.–10 p.m.) and match on Friday and Saturday (to 11 p.m.).²

The official site dates this location’s opening to March 7, 2024, nine years after the Independence original opened on May 10, 2015.³ It has its own phone, email and social handles but shares the site, menu and branding.² No owner is named anywhere we could find, and no press covered the opening.
