Ye’s Master Wok is a family-named Chinese-American restaurant in the Raintree Village shops off SW Raintree Drive in southwest Lee’s Summit — a long menu of General Tso’s chicken, sweet-and-sour pork, beef with broccoli, cashew chicken and house-made dumplings, served in a quiet dining room seven days a week, with $11.95 lunch combinations from 11 to 3. It was one of seven finalists for Best Chinese Restaurant in The Pitch’s Best of KC 2025, alongside Bo Lings and ABC Cafe; a sister Master Wok in Independence closed by mid-2025, leaving this as the family’s one location.

Description

The restaurant’s own words are modest: “Welcome to Ye’s Master Wok located at 3757 SW Raintree Dr, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082. We take pride in serving the most authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine in Lee’s Summit. Our menu features a range of Chinese dishes, including General Tso’s chicken, sweet and sour pork, and beef with broccoli. Each dish is prepared with a careful balance of seasonings and ingredients … We use only the freshest ingredients.”12 Lee’s Summit’s tourism office files it as a “local chain restaurant serving a lengthy menu of traditional Chinese dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.”3

The menu, as mirrored on a third-party ordering service, opens with a luncheon combination list — about thirty dishes at $11.95, daily 11 a.m.–3 p.m., each with egg-drop or hot-and-sour soup, an egg roll or two crab rangoon, and rice — and an appetizer list that includes house dumplings labeled “(owner homemade),” crab rangoon “stuffed in a thin crust,” lettuce wraps, teriyaki beef and a pu-pu-style sampler; cashew chicken is described in Springfield fashion, “diced with celery, carrots and water chestnuts stir-fried with roasted cashews in our hearty brown sauce.”4 Customer testimonials the restaurant chose for its own site praise fresh-fried sweet-and-sour chicken “served hot,” “gigantic portions for a great price,” and food brought out “as it is made … so it doesn’t sit under heat lamp.”2

Ownership and history

The restaurant is named for the Ye family; no source retrieved here names the individual owners, their origin, or the year the Raintree Drive restaurant opened. The Facebook handle “ChineseRestaurantYe” and the two first-party web domains all carry the family name.512 A Master Wok at 4810 S Arrowhead Drive in Independence — described in listings as the original, and sharing the Ye’s Master Wok online-ordering site — is marked closed on Yelp as of June 2025, which would make Lee’s Summit the family’s sole remaining restaurant.6 Whether the two were opened in that order, and when, is not documented.

In November 2025 The Pitch’s readers put Ye’s Master Wok among seven finalists for Best Chinese Restaurant, with Bo Lings winning and ABC Cafe runner-up.7
