Te Amo Café is a family-run boba, coffee and dessert café in the Stanley Square shopping center at 151st Street and U.S. 69 in south Overland Park, opened the first weekend of April 2026 by Sabeen Khaliq and Mehtab Khan, with their 18-year-old daughter Alysha Khan running the social media and co-designing the room. The Khans previously ran a franchised Fat Bee Cafe; this one is theirs. The menu is milk and fruit teas, “frosty” blended drinks, specialty lattes (tiramisu cold brew, Biscoff, ube drizzle), matcha, lemonades, croffles and whole-slice cakes, in a mint-green room under rattan pendant lights — the name means “I love you.”

Description

Stanley Square is the strip on the north side of 151st Street immediately east of U.S. 69, the same center where 69-sushi opened its all-you-can-eat room the same month; monarch-books-and-gifts and sammies-kitchen-and-bar are across 151st in Stanley Station.1 Te Amo took a former massage-spa suite at 7932 and rebuilt it as, in Alysha Khan’s words, “a fresh space for you to go and just relax, but also a little more elegant”: mint-green cabinetry, greenery hanging from rattan-woven ceiling lights, and a large coffee-cup mural, designed by Alysha and her mother.2 Visit Overland Park calls the drinks “the most instagrammable” in town.3

The menu is organized by base. Milk teas (Okinawa, taro ube, Thai, creme brulee, red guava, rose-kissed, winter melon, jasmine mint, a house “TeAmo” milk tea) and fruit teas (watermelon, Hawaiian Sunset, Midnight Lychee, Strawberry Yakult, Pink Lady, Kiwi Crush) run $6.95–6.99; boba lattes — brown sugar, creme brulee, mango — are $7.99; coffee covers Americano, latte, mocha, caramel macchiato, hot chocolate and house drinks like the Tiramisu Cold Brew, Biscoff Latte, Nutella Latte, Twisted Hazelnut Mocha and an Ube Drizzle Latte ($5.99–6.99); lemonades (Blue Razz, Cherry Red, Honey Lavender, Lychee Mint, Lychee Pea Sparkle, Dragon Berry, Piña Colada, Cream Soda) are $6.99; and the frosty blended line runs from Mango Lava and Taro Ube to Strawberry Cheesecake and Peppermint Cookie Cream ($6.99–7.99).45 Matcha comes strawberry, mango, honey or creme brulee.5 The dessert case holds croffles (croissant-waffles, topped with Oreo or berries), matcha cake, tiramisu, cheesecake, strawberry cake, crepe cake and flan.523 The site marks house signatures — Te Amo Signature latte, Tiramisu Cold Brew, Strawberry Matcha, Strawberry Yakult, Mango Lava, croffles — with a plus sign.5

A note on hours: at opening the Johnson County Post reported 8:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 10:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Friday–Sunday, and The Pitch reported 10:30–8:30 daily; the café’s own site in August 2026 lists 10:30–8 Monday–Thursday and 10:30–8:30 Friday–Sunday.265

Ownership and history

The Khan family moved from Dallas to the Kansas City area in 2015 and to Overland Park in 2019.2 Parents Sabeen Khaliq and Mehtab Khan “already have experience in the food and drink world — including owning a local franchise of boba tea shop Fat Bee Cafe,” the Post reported; which Fat Bee location, and whether they still hold it, is not stated.2 Their daughter Alysha Khan, 18, “head of social media for her parents’ business,” said the café had been “in the making for a year.”2

Te Amo opened at Stanley Square on the weekend of April 4–5, 2026: the Post ran its opening story on Monday, April 6 (“this past weekend”), The Pitch listed it under “Opening” on April 9 (“opened over the weekend”), and the Star’s end-of-month roundup of fifteen April openings noted “Te Amo Cafe at 7932 W. 151st opened the same month” as 69 Sushi a few doors down.261 The name, Spanish for “I love you,” is, per the family, “more than just a name.”2

The café should not be confused with Teamo Boba Bar / Teamo Boba Cafe, separately branded boba shops elsewhere in the metro (teamobobabar.com, teamobobacafe.com) whose relationship to the Khans, if any, is undocumented.
